And the new year begins...

Started the new year off by going to church.  We had a missionary farewell. The 19 year olds still seem so young, yet headed into such an adult experience.  What a test of a mother's faith to send her baby boy out in the world.  There are so many emotions; excitement, anxiousness, fear, nervous tension and hope all rolled into one.  As a mother it feels like a piece of your heart goes with them.  It's one of the hardest things you'll do, yet you know that great sacrifice brings great blessings.  I believe it.

With 2012 comes a new theme in Primary:  "Choose The Right". Simply to say, yet so hard for some to do.  We are adding to our CTR theme the wise old old.  I hope it will help the kids remember and learn what we are trying to teach them this year.  I started the year off with a poem and sent the kids home with an owl to set out where they'll see it each day. I challenged them to live like the wise old owl:

"A wise old owl lived in an oak tree.
The more he saw, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
Why can't we call be like that wise old bird?"

Starting my new year's resolution early...

So, I see so many people creating blogs these days.  Not to be left out I decided my new year's resolution for 2012 would be to create one of my own.  But, what to write about?  I decided two things, one, I'd like to journal my life a bit, just for the fun of it.  Two, to share fun, positive, uplifting things.  I find negativity to be tiring, takes too much energy.  Now, I'll sit back and wait for something fun and or positive to happen. Hmmm, today may not be the day to write as I've been doing battle with the DMV. If you are a person that likes to lose things or NOT be helpful to others I suggest you apply at the DMV.  You'd be perfect for the job.
